Katie Stephenson
Exposure to worldwide travel and European culture from a young age sparked Katie Stephenson’s passion for design and architecture. She recalls a deep appreciation for the beauty and culture of other countries — one she eventually channelled into a successful interior design firm, Stephenson Interiors (now Stephenson House), which opened in 2018. With a European focus, Stephenson’s designs often draw on classical elements. Layers of antiques sourced from across the globe ensure a mix of old and new with plenty of texture and patterns. Her philosophy — shaped by what she’s seen in European homes and châteaux throughout her travels — is that classic design has stood the test of time.
Since humble beginnings as a solo, female-owned business, the firm has grown significantly into a full-scale luxury residential design firm with a retail division, a brick-and-mortar location in Edmonton, and a growing e-commerce branch. Stephenson has also started to expand her design services within Europe. Trips across the pond to source items have allowed Stephenson to provide Edmontonians with antiques and home decor items that have depth, longevity, and a story to tell.
Stephenson is also a mother of two, which influences her commitment to give back to her community. Over the years, she and her firm have donated multiple design packages for auctions and fundraising to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.
The relationship between Stephenson and her clients is rooted in trust. They know that she and her team will be the guiding compass on the journey to their dream home. For Stephenson, the measure of success is knowing that regardless of the beautiful places a client may visit, coming home feels best.
