Brenda Brix had a simple goal: to lead a movement to raise the standards across the interior design industry. Having built her own career from the ground up, Brix wanted to help others, especially women, do the same. After founding AMR Design and settling into a prosperous career, she started Brenda Brix Consulting to help others build successful businesses while maintaining sustainable work-life harmony.

But Brix wanted more.

She long dreamt of designing a luxury furniture line and made that dream a reality in 2023 when she launched her first collection, Serenity, with her third business, Brix & Co. It was an incredible accomplishment, considering she was undergoing treatment for breast cancer at the time.

Serenity comprises three pieces; a console table, a side table and a coffee table; each inspired by the beauty of nature and mountainscapes.

Environmentally conscious decisions remain at the core of Brix’s principles. Her unique, one-of-a-kind pieces won’t be replicated or mass-produced, and the materials she incorporates are often sourced from Canadian businesses and vendors, showcasing her commitment to producing ethical and luxurious results.

Brix lives in a world of compassion for others and with a selfless approach to philanthropy. Somewhere amidst a busy schedule of furniture, consulting, and home design, Brix finds the time to mentor novice designers while lending her time and expertise to others in her community. Her passion for supporting women led her to design a room in a women’s shelter as well as a sexual assault centre, where she purposefully pieced together a secure space where vulnerable people could feel safe and supported.

Moving forward, Brix plans on investing more time and energy into her next furniture launch. She also plans on spending more time outdoors, where she draws inspiration and feels most at peace.
