Sigma Automotive delivers an elevated automotive experience through iconic cars and curated customer service
Sigma Automotive delivers a curated experience designed to reflect the precision and power of the rare vehicles it houses. Inside the 13,000-square-foot space, a quiet and luxurious atmosphere whispers exclusivity, bolstered by buttery leather lounge chairs, matte black walls, and the subtle gleam of polished concrete floors.
Founder and owner John Yu designed the space, drawing inspiration from luxury dealerships around the world. “Black has always been associated with luxury in my mind,” he says, “but I also wanted it to feel comfortable, not commercial or cold.” The design details reflect Yu’s deep appreciation for fine automotive craftsmanship. The waiting lounge is outfitted with custom orange leather seating reminiscent of a Rolls-Royce interior, as well as carbon black accents and diamond quilting that evoke the spirit of the vehicles on display in the showroom. High-end coffee table books, rare spirits, and custom lighting complete the picture, making it less a showroom and more a gallery of modern engineering.

Yu’s path to this point wasn’t conventional. He didn’t begin as a car salesman. “I started out in a 300-square-foot basement office on Whyte Ave.,” he shares. “My first sale was a Ferrari 456M to a buyer from New Jersey. I sold it out of my condo’s underground parking and finalized the deal in a Starbucks. That’s how it all started.” That grassroots beginning has stayed with him, informing the kind of deeply personal, relationship-first business he runs today. “I work directly with my clients,” Yu says. “I choose to, because I love hearing their stories and building that connection. They’re not just transactions; they often become friends.”
Sigma Automotive specializes in rare, niche vehicles—think Porsches, Ferraris, McLarens, and Rolls-Royces—each one selected with intention. “I’m not chasing volume,” Yu explains. “I’m after cars with a story. A Ferrari TDF, one of only 799 in the world, or a Carrera GT, built with a Formula One engine. These are pieces of history.”
Beyond sales, Sigma Automotive has become a hub for Edmonton’s car community, hosting events and giving back through initiatives like Horsepower for Hope, and Racing for a Cure. Yu is passionate about using his platform to bring joy, especially to children facing serious illness. “We’ve had children from the Kids with Cancer Society come through to see the cars and take photos; they just light up,” he says.
Sigma Automotive isn’t designed for the masses. It’s a destination for those who understand that craftsmanship, heritage, and performance can (and should) coexist. For those seeking something rare, it offers something even more precious: a place where passion drives everything.
Sigma Automotive is open by appointment only.
