Edmonton International Street Performers Festival (StreetFest)

July 3 to 12 – Sir Winston Churchill Square, Downtown Edmonton

 

StreetFest returns to Churchill Square in the heart of downtown Edmonton for its 41st year. The first of its kind in North America when it launched in 1985, StreetFest celebrates busking and street entertainment with high-calibre acts from around the world. Jugglers, acrobats, sword-swallowers, and hip hop dancers are among the more than 500 outdoor performances by an international cast of street artists. Admission is free, but performers are paid through the “Pass the Hat” tradition of busking, so bring some cash to show your support!

Whyte Avenue Art Walk

July 10 to 12, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm daily – Old Strathcona (82 Avenue between 107 Street and 103 Street)

 

Alberta’s largest and longest-running art walk takes over the sidewalks, streets, and alleys of Old Strathcona for three days. With over 470 artists sharing their creative talents, the Art Walk spans a 4 km stroll where visitors can watch artists in action and shop their collection of works in open-air galleries. There is music curated by Music March, Edmonton Public Library programming for kids, and artisans and crafters taking over the South Side Memorial Chapel’s parking lot on Saturday and Sunday. The event is free and family-friendly, with art for a wide range of tastes and budgets.

World Triathlon Cup Edmonton

July 18 and 19 – Hawrelak Park, 7300 River Valley Road

 

Elite athletes from around the globe descend on Edmonton’s iconic Hawrelak Park to compete in the Sprint Triathlon and Mixed Relay at the World Triathlon Cup Edmonton. The newly revitalized Hawrelak Park will be home to international triathlon racing once again, welcoming elite men and women competing across both events. The weekend also features community events and age-group qualification races for the 2027 World Triathlon Multisport Championships — making it a thrill for both competitive athletes and armchair sports fans alike. Taste of Edmonton

July 16 to 26, 11:00 am to 10:00 pm (to 11:00 pm Fridays and Saturdays) – Sir Winston Churchill Square

 

Now celebrating its 42nd year, Taste of Edmonton is Western Canada’s largest outdoor food festival. Sample over 200 menu items from over 50 local restaurants and food trucks. Bring your crew for the ultimate outdoor feast, then dance it off with live music all day and into the night, featuring 180+ local performing artists and Canadian headliners. The Market by Wholly Handmade returns with more than 75 local artisans, while a newly expanded Kids Area makes this a festival the whole family can enjoy. Guided Food Bike Tours also run on Fridays and Saturdays. Admission is free.

Great Outdoors Comedy Festival

July 17 to 19 – Kinsmen Park, 9100 Walterdale Hill NW

The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival has been a showcase for some of the biggest names in comedy across North America. Think of it as a cabaret-style outdoor comedy club, celebrating up-and-coming local talent as well as headliners with massive followings and global comedy specials. Get ready for three days of side-splitting laughter at Kinsmen Park, as the festival brings an all-star lineup to the heart of Edmonton. Tony Hinchcliffe and the Killers of Kill Tony bring the laughter on Friday, Anthony Jeselnik, Kumail Nanjiani, and Nick Kroll headline Saturday, and John Mulaney, Martin Short, and Matt Wright wrap things up on Sunday. KDays

July 17 to 26, 11:00 am to 11:00 pm daily – Edmonton Expo Centre and Exhibition Grounds, 7515 118 Avenue NW

KDays returns to the Edmonton Expo Centre for 10 fun-filled days of exciting rides and challenging midway games. Watch the nightly fireworks, see the Superdogs: Wild Wild Woof show, or treat yourself to a bucket of warm mini donuts. The Edmonton Expo Centre’s Discovery Zone offers a break from the heat with local kid-friendly entertainers and activities, including a Ninja Warrior obstacle course and a petting zoo. The KDays Music Fest features a different concert headliner each night, with the 2026 lineup including Ty Dolla $ign, Down With Webster, Mother Mother, Peach Pit, bbno$, Noah Cyrus, Pennywise, and The Beaches, among others. This 145-year-old summer institution truly has something for everyone.
